HUDL takes Austin! Students go to work at 2026 summer debate camp

This July, the Houston Urban Debate League, in partnership with the Houston Independent School District and the Harris County Department of Education's CASE for Kids program, was proud to send 46 students to Austin for a week of transformative debate education. These enthusiastic students participated in the prestigious annual summer camp conducted by the University of Texas National Institute in Forensics, sharpening their debate skills and preparing for the year ahead on one of the nation's most exciting college campuses.
HUDL thanks the Texas Bar Foundation, the Leon Jaworski Foundation, and HUDL's donors for the contributions that made this event possible, as well as the HUDL volunteer coordinators who made sure our debaters got to our state's capitol in safety and comfort. We can't wait to see what these fantastic students do in the year to come.
